Jet Lag
We left Kigali at 4:00 PM—10:00 AM Richmond time—and arrived home a mere 27 hours later. One of my observations is that 21 hours is way too long to sit in an airplane seat.
Another observation is that it takes a few days for your body to adjust to the change in time zones. My friend and world traveler, Charles Howell, advises that it takes one day for each time zone for the body to adjust. That’s 6 days. We got home about 1:00 PM and my goal was to stay up until 9:00. I think I stayed awake until maybe 7:00 before falling asleep in my chair. I’m back to normal now, but it took a few days.
