Some pictures and thoughts from my time away. (The most recent post appears first--to read chronologically, you'll have to start at the end and work your way back.)
Hotel Rwanda
We visited Hotel Mille Collines this afternoon. Mille Collines is French for “a thousand hills” (Rwanda’s nickname). It is the premiere hotel in Kigali (think The Jefferson). During the genocide, the hotel’s manager, Paul Ruseabagina, hid 1,268 Tutsis in the Mille Collines and saved their lives. His book An Ordinary Man was made into the movie Hotel Rwanda.
