Our first evening in Amsterdam, we found a nice sidewalk cafe. One of the menu items was “Traditional Dutch Meal,” and I thought, “Why not?” Turns out the Dutch are meat and potatoes people. The traditional meal was green mashed potatoes with gravy (they turn them green by mixing in spinach!), two kinds of sausage and ham. Not exactly heart healthy!

We made it to Amsterdam!! Here’s Lynda standing outside the Amerstam airport. We left Richmond on Monday (5/26), flew all night (well, most of it) and got here at 8:00 AM Tuesday morning.
